    FLUORSPAR

  • Fluorite is the most important and abundant fluoride mineral. It consists of calcium fluoride with a (theoretical) composition of 51.3% calcium and 48.7% fluorine.

  • Currently available are metallurgical spar grades in the 1/8mm, 8/16mm and 16/24mm grading curves with a CaF2 content of 85-90% and cement spar with a CaF2 concentration of 30-50%.

  • Metallite accounts for approximately 37-40% of total fluorspar production. Its main use is in the production of steel and stainless steel. It is used as a flux to lower the melting temperature, increase chemical reactivity and remove impurities in the slag.

  • Other grades are under development.

  • The material is sold directly from Keles Mining.
